What is Coyote P.E.?

Different than any Physical Education class you have seen before.  Through a wide variety of games and activities students increase their physical skills and fitness.  But that's not all, from the food guide pyramid to the cardiovascular system we learn all the components in health, nutrition and fitness.
In addition, we also incorporate the latest technology with heart rate monitors, pedometers, and video cameras that enable personal instruction and replay.

But what makes Coyote P.E. unique is the extra details.  Sign language, geography, Spanish and anatomy are just some subjects that are integrated into gym.  But it doesn't stop there, additionally we increase brain development through a variety of cross lateral exercises.

Finally, there are the life lessons that correlate among sports.  Concepts like responsibility, respect, effort and helping others are skills that can last a lifetime no matter what you are doing.

Coyote Ridge Physical Education Principles

1. Make it funevery moment of the experience, physical fitness should be enjoyable
2. Limit standing around…
it ultimately turns kids off and ruins the first principle: make it fun.
3. Everyone participates…it is never fun to sit and watch everyone else.
4. Teach every skill to every student…
no one will be surpassed or overlooked for any reason.
5. Emphasize the fundamentals…we must learn how to dribble first before we play basketball.
6. Challenge by Choice…
students become more responsible when they make their own choices.
7. Yell encouragement…
whisper constructive criticism.
8. Use sport as a tool for life lessons…
ultimately they can use these lessons anywhere.
