Frequently Asked Questions:

Can students or friends from other schools attend this trip also?

Yes!  Any friends are welcome to come also for the same price!  All families and ages are also welcome!  Although, they must also sign all the waivers also.

How are students supervised?

If they sign up for a lesson then students are supervised 100% of the time.  They will be supervised by teachers from Coyote Ridge on the bus and while they eat lunch.  Then taught by a Echo Mountain certified instructor in groups of 6 or less for the 2 hour lesson.

If students are not taking a lesson then they will only be directly supervised during the bus ride and during lunch.  This is why it is strongly recomended that only 4th grade students and older go without taking a lesson.  Coyote Ridge teachers will be also on the mountain but will not be able to supervise everyone at all times.  Students not taking a lesson, must be able to ride a ski lift completly alone, and have had done this previous to the trip.  If you are not sure it's better to sign them up for a lesson and you can always learn something new!

What should students bring?
Students should bring along the following items on each trip:

·  Appropriate winter clothing including winter jacket (we suggest layered clothing)

·  Waterproof pants (preferably insulated ski or snow pants)

·  Winter Hat

·  Goggles or Sunglasses (it prevents sunburned eyes on bright days)

·  Waterproof insulated gloves or mittens

·  Snacks and/or a bottled beverage for consumption on the motorcoach
·  Sunscreen

Students may bring along a backpack which can be left on the bus during the day. All items should be marked with the student's name. DO NOT SEND ITEMS THAT YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE. Students should not take any money, as they will not be allowed to buy anything.  Echo Mountain and Coyote Ridge is not responsible for items that are lost.

What is the bus like?

All motorcoaches are air conditioned, restroom and video equipped, and have deluxe reclining seats and footrests.  "G" rated movies and usually some ski or snowboard sports shows are shown on the bus ride up.

How can I contact my child during the trip?

Students can bring cell phones if they like, but also take the risk of losing them.  Additionally, the cell phone number of the teacher on the bus will be given to parents as they drop their children off in the morning.  You are welcome to call but you might not get a answer immediately.  Feel free to leave a message, and the teacher will be back in touch with you within about a hour.  In the event of a emergency you can call Echo Mountain directly, and ask to speak to a staff member from Coyote Ridge School Group.

What if I cancel, can I get a refund?

Sorry no refunds are given, but it can be credited to the next trip or towards Echo Mountain Lift tickets and services.

Can 5th graders use their 5th grade ski free pass?

Sorry, not for these school sponsored trips.  Because of the already heavily discounted prices, the 5th grade ski free passes are not eligible for use.

Couple things to note...

When you arrive Coach Mo will give you a cell phone number that you can call to contact him during the trip.

The charter bus can fit all the ski equipment under the bus in storage.

Typically ski and snowboard boots are taken on the bus with students.

If you have 1 bag that can fit: gloves, hats, coats, goggles, that helps keep things organized.  Students shouldn't come dressed to ski on the bus, as they will probably get hot.  They can have underlayers on, but the teachers from Coyote Ridge can help students zip up coats and put on hats, and gloves.

Students will also be given bright neon green pipe cleaners that will go on the outside of their coat to help identify them as "Coyote Ridge" from a distance.

Additionally head counts will be taken before loading the bus and before lessons and during lunch.

Students can bring small snacks and drinks on the bus.  Anything with a lid works best.  Not much is needed usually water or gatorade works well.  Snacks could include but not limited to: little cookies, fruit snacks, granola bars, chips etc.

If we find anything on the bus afterwards we will put in the lost and found of Coyote Ridge.  It's best to write your name on everything, then we can return it easier.
