Welcome to Coyote Ridge Physical Education

An innovative, safe and fun environment that promotes physical activity and health to every student. 


 

What are we doing this month in P.E.?  

 In February we will be jumping rope to keep our hearts healthy!  Additionally we will be taking our health and skill tests for students grades in the 2nd trimester.  Finally, we will be celebrating and practcing some winter Olympic sports and learning about the importance of camarderie.

  

Jump Rope for Heart Club: Thursdays during February 2:30-3:15pm

K-5 students are welcome to join the jump rope club at Coyote Ridge. 

Every Thursday after school from 2:30-3:15 p.m., students can jump in the gym.

The cost to attend the club is a minimum donation of $15.00 or more. 

All participants receive a jump rope and all proceeds go to the American Heart Foundation.

Remember any kind of movement counts... walking, recess, P.E., sports practice, Wii, sledding, buidling a snowman, shoveling snow

  


 

WAKE UP WORKOUT:  Tuesdays 7:20-7:35am

All grades are welcome to come to the gym before school and get a morning workout!  We will do activities that help energize the body and the brain. 

The workouts are designed to be fun, but extremely active.  Students will be moving non-stop for 12 minutes.  The goal is to have them sweating a lot!

Just 12 minutes of exercise in a students target heart rate zone, has been shown to be effective in improving cognitive understanding. 

 

When: Wake Up Workout is every Tuesday during February from 7:20-7:35am.

 Coyote Ridge P.E. shirts are available for $5.00 but not necessary to attend.
